Lyrical jazz is a style of dance that fuses ballet technique with jazz and contemporary dance styles. It combines many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidity, and expressiveness of jazz, contemporary and modern dance.
This workshop will introduce these foundational lyrical techniques which will then be applied to a short choreo routine. This workshop is open to all levels, but caters more to those with some basic experience in the jazz or contemporary field.
The UTM Dance Team is a competitive dance team offering routines in the hip hop, open, contemporary, tap, jazz, lyrical, and many more styles.
