Hart House Viols

Curious about those beautiful stringed instruments on display in the Gallery's Bar Lounge? The Hart House viols are museum-quality instruments that are tuned and played regularly.

The collection of six viols is on permanent display in a glass case in the Gallery Grill restaurant on the second floor of Hart House. Each was made by a different luthier with the earliest from c1580 London and the most recent from c1761 Paris.
