Visitor Info & Accessibility

Accessibility

Hart House continues to make every effort to facilitate the inclusion of campus and community members with disabilities into all aspects of our facilities and services.

Patrons may gain access to the theatre (7 Hart House Circle, Toronto) by using the 10 steps via the main entrance, or the ramped, accessible entrances located off Tower Road (located south of Hoskin Avenue), and Queen’s Park Circle (18 Queen’s Park Crescent West).

If patrons are seeking a barrier-free entrance on Saturday or Sunday, please use the Tower Road Entrance.

A barrier-free entrance into the Arbor Room is available during their operating hours (Monday to Friday 8 am - 8 pm) off Hart House Circle. The main passenger elevator travels to the theatre lobby via the Theatre (T) button. All elevator buttons have braille.

Accessible seating is available as well as large-print, text-only programs. An accessible washroom is located in the lobby.

Service animals are always welcome at our venue. If you are planning on bringing a support animal with you please advise a Box Office representative when booking your tickets.

We consider a support person to be an individual chosen, or hired, to provide services or assistance for another individual. Tickets are free for support persons for admission to all performances.

To book accessible seating for patrons and support persons or inform us of a service animal at a performance, please contact Sara Filipowski at [email protected] or 416 978 3755.

To make a specific request or inquiry, please email us.

Facilities for Assistive Listening

Our theatre has Assistive Listening Devices–solutions that overcome the challenges of noise, distance, clashing conversations, and hearing loss to deliver precise and personalized audio in any setting or environment. These systems require use of headsets which are available, free of charge, at the lobby concessions counter on a first-come, first-served basis.

Patrons borrowing headsets will be asked to leave a piece of photo ID or credit card (as a form of security deposit) which will be given back when the undamaged headset is returned, following the performance.
