On Hip Hop culture’s momentous fiftieth anniversary, we celebrate the making of our Toronto Hip Hop scene in a day-long conference at York University that endeavours to look back, archive and preserve.
The conference will include four panel discussions that center discussion on the process of building, promoting, documenting and supporting the Toronto Hip Hop scene. The event will feature a cross-section of practitioners (emcees, deejays, breakdancers, graffiti artists, beat-makers, producers, and fashion designers), and personalities in sectors adjacent to Hip Hop culture (radio, television, film, journalism, street teams, concert promotion, music label executives, and public relations).
