About

The Brotherhood of Ethnic Excellence (BEE) is a Hart House youth program that aims to build stronger connections between the University of Toronto campus and Black youth.

BEE provides transformative learning, leadership skill development and mentorship for Black male-identifying students in Grades 9 to 12.

As a member of BEE, youth have the opportunity to build their professional and personal capacity and interests, fine-tune leadership and interpersonal communication skills and gain real-life applicable skills to support them during their time in high school and beyond.

This show reflects the vibrant voices of Black male high school students involved in BEE. Through this exhibit, we get a glimpse into the experiences of Black youth, shedding light on important aspects of their lives and identities.

Each artwork is an expression of their personal journey and showcases their resilience, creativity and determination. We invite you to explore the artwork, share your thoughts and join us in challenging stereotypes and fostering understanding. By showcasing their artwork, BEE students not only empower themselves, but also empower viewers to embrace the richness of Black identity.
