In honour of this milestone, we’re shedding light on the past, present and future of Hip Hop in Canada. In the Fall Term, 2023, we invite you to join us for keynote speeches, hands-on workshops, film screenings and a guest list that reads like a ‘who’s who’ of Canadian Hip-Hop.

Following the success and positive student feedback from last year’s six-week short course, we’re offering our Hip Hop Culture Certificate again, which acts as an introduction to Hip Hop culture, and offers an overview of the five elements, while also considering the culture’s historical and modern-era context(s).

Hart House Hip Hop Education Community Connector and PhD candidate, Marcus Singleton (aka iomos marad) joins us for Year 5 as a guest curator, showcasing compelling recent research and profiling thought leaders in the field of Education and Critical Hip Hop Pedagogy. We’re honored to continue to work with him and invite you to join his talks whenever you can.
