“Talking Walls” is an on-going series of informal exhibit spaces staged throughout Hart House. It seeks to build understanding and awareness by giving voice to challenging and engaging subject matter.
About
In March 2022, the Hart House Youth Advisory Council launched an art contest -- The CITY Project: Climate Impacts on Toronto Youth -- which invited youth from across the Greater Toronto Area to share their thoughts and feelings about this global crisis through art, photography, and video.
Exhibition
The aim of The CITY Project: Climate Impacts on Toronto Youth is to encourage the youth of Toronto to start where they are, consider and express how they feel, and to look at the everyday environments around them a little more closely.
This Talking Walls exhibit continues this conversation, asking viewers to reflect on the experiences of the young folk who have inherited an existentially large issue and centre them as we collectively move towards tomorrow. As you take in each piece, consider how you feel, who you can take care of, and how you would like to reimagine or reinvent the world around you.
This exhibition features artwork submitted by youth across the Greater Toronto Area.
