Overview
A free, virtual space that’s all about making stuff, trying new things, and getting creative with the things you have on hand at home. We’ll lead you through hands-on activities in a fun and friendly atmosphere! You’ll be making crafts in no time, no matter your skill level or experience. Take a break, make yourself a cup of tea, grab a pen and let’s get to playing, making, and being creative together.
No special tools or techniques required, just a bit of curiosity, creativity and your presence. All welcome!

Workshops
DIY Journals
The new year is a perfect opportunity to start some new habits, including regularly writing in a journal. We will share creative ways to design and make your own journal at home, whether it is bullet journaling, for meditation, gratitude journaling, or any other use you may have. Or, design some journals to give out as gifts. Add a personal touch to your existing journal, or even make one from scratch!
Tools and Materials:

DIY Microwavable Heating Pads
Heat can be used for relaxation, muscle aches, and overall comfort. Join us as we create homemade heating pads for your neck and shoulders. Heat can also encourage blood flow to sore muscles, and bring you comfort during the cold days and nights. Create your own heating pad using items you have at home!
Tools and Materials:
- fabric (ideally flannel, though any fabric can work)
- needle
- thread
- rice (or lentils)
Scrunchies Hand Sewing
Scunchies were the craze in the 80s and 90s, but they are just as stylish and useful as ever. Scrunchies can be worn in your hair, or make a fashion statement and wear it on your wrist. However you wear them, join us as we learn how to create scrunchies with the use of fabric, elastic, and some thread.

Drink Mixes and Jars
It is almost Valentine’s Day, so enjoy learning how to make some delicious drink mixes you can prepare as gifts. Don’t feel like giving them out to anyone? Treat yourself! In collaboration with UTM Cooks, this Get Crafty will be tastier than ever!

Reflective Watercolour
Our watercolour tutorials continue with a reflective watercolour session. Join us as we work together to learn new techniques during this relaxing watercolour workshop.

Mini Banana Piñatas
Let’s go bananas! These hilarious piñatas will be a hit with your friends and family. Fill them with treats, give them as gifts, or keep them around your space as decorations. We guarantee many giggles with these unique crafts. We are excited for a fun session as we work together to create mini banana piñatas!

Watercolour Flower Garlands
In our last watercolour session of the semester, we’ll show you how to create a watercolour flower garland, just in time to welcome Spring! Join our Get Crafty team as we share techniques and work together to create unique and beautiful watercolour flower project you can hang on your wall, wear as a necklace, or even put on your wrist, you adventurer!

Calligraphy Workshop
Come and try some calligraphy in this tutorial, for beginners and those who have some experience. Calligraphy continues to flourish with party and wedding invitations, incredible logos, or writing letters to friends and family. This will be a faux calligraphy session for those who may not have a calligraphy pen. With the use of a pen, a Crayola marker, or a calligraphy pen, the last virtual session of the year will be a fun opportunity to practice your calligraphy with our incredible Get Crafty team!
