About
Today’s youth appear to be the most politically-engaged generation in decades, yet Gen-Z and Millennial voter turnout remain significantly lower than older generations. Are youth actually politically engaged, or is this just a misconception? Why aren’t youth showing up to vote while we seem to care about political issues?
The purpose of this event is to explore these questions and phenomena, how they can be changed, and to support students in understanding the importance of elections as well as civic engagement. If we are to be tomorrow’s caretakers of society, we must start now in engaging with and understanding our democracy. Our hope is that our Town Hall discussion will do just that.
