About
This exhibition was created to remind the world about the ongoing war and the price Ukrainians pay daily in their fight for freedom. Unissued Diplomas honours the memory of 40 Ukrainian students who will never graduate because the Russian invasion took their lives.
The students used to spend their days in study halls. They had their favourite classes and those they dreaded weekly. And how scary it was for them to even think of failing a midterm. But after February 24, 2022, everything changed for Ukrainian students. Classrooms turned into bomb shelters and battlefields. Fear changed its course, and bravery took control. Now, some diplomas will never be issued because Russia took the lives of their to-be owners in its attempt to bring Ukraine's freedom.
In 2023, the project organized 110 exhibitions across 24 countries. The exhibition was first shown at Hart House in February-March 2023.
The local organizers of the exhibition will also be holding a series of Ukrainian events in 2024. If you are interested, please subscribe to Unity.Awareness.Ukraine.
While we wish we could stop at this point, Russia does not cease launching missiles; we have no choice but to persist in our mission, ensuring that the stories of our peers are not forgotten.

The Team and the Goal
The fundraising goal for this year is to launch The Unissued Diplomas Endowment Fund in cooperation with the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation of America. We aim to raise $75,000. This will allow us to create a scholarship that will provide $3000 per student annually. Establishing a scholarship in the format of an endowment fund allows us to perpetuate the memory of those who fought for our freedom.
The project was organized by Ukrainian students worldwide.
