Local Commons Action Hour
Local Commons is an opportunity to discuss global issues within our local U of T community. Join us for lunchtime sessions at U of T, hear from local advocates and thinkers, and engage in dialogue and action opportunities related to the Global Commons program. This year, our theme focuses on Migration: Global Perspectives on the Search for Home.
About
Social Action Pop-Up: Local Commons - Migrant Workers' Rights with Justice for Migrant Workers.
Join The Centre for Community Partnerships and Hart House Global Commons for our next Social Action Pop-Up focused on Migrant Workers' Rights. Social Action Pop-Ups are one-time events where you can learn about social issues and ways that you can take action. With the 2022-2023 Global Commons theme focused on Migration, this partnership is an opportunity for students to come together and learn about the experiences of migrant workers.
In this pop-up, Christopher Ramsaroop, member of Justice for Migrant Workers, will share information about the status of migrant workers' rights, on-going initiatives to support migrant workers, as well as ways to get involved!
Within this activity, students will be led through a call-to-action activity which will provide ways to advocate for Migrant Workers' rights. Join us for this important and timely session!
Refreshments will be served.
This program is CCR eligible. The CCR is a student Co-Curricular Record which demonstrates students' involvement in campus activities which promote skill development.
