Art Committee Chair 2023-24
As a 4th-year undergraduate student studying Architecture and Visual Studies at U of T, Victoria Lee is deeply passionate about fostering inclusivity and representation within the art community. With a strong belief in the power of art to amplify marginalized voices, she is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and diverse artistic space at Hart House. Alongside her academic pursuits, Victoria finds joy in photography and the captivating process of working in the darkroom. Through her multidisciplinary art practice, particularly in installations, she aims to push boundaries and inspire meaningful connections. Ultimately, she hopes to create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
What does Hart House mean to you? Or alternatively, what is your favourite thing about Hart House?
Hart House holds a special significance to me as a distinctive art and cultural space. I am consistently filled with awe at the diverse range of artworks adorning its walls. It seems as though the artworks themselves possess a vitality, beckoning to be observed as they grace the halls of Hart House. I find continual inspiration in witnessing the renewal of artworks and their inclusion in the Art Museum’s exhibitions. I deeply appreciate Hart House's commitment to amplifying student voices and fostering meaningful dialogue, especially in collaboration with the Art Museum. Whether in the intimate setting of the art vault, the curated galleries, or diverse boardroom discussions, students are provided with a platform to engage in important conversations that have the potential to shape perceptions of culture within our generation.
