Overview
The Opening of the House is the annual and ceremonial beginning of the school year's debate season at the HHDC (Hart House Debating Club), which is the official recreational and competitive debating society at the University of Toronto, serving all three campuses. If you're interested in watching an exciting show debate and learning more about us, come on out to this event! We invite you to join us as cherished alumni, students, and members of the Hart House community to reminisce and reconnect, while celebrating the spirit of lively debate that has played a defining role in the educational experiences of many.
Program
- We will introduce the club by conducting a show debate with some of our top debaters
- This year’s exciting motion will be announced before the start of the round.
- You'll have a chance to meet our current debaters and ask any questions you may have
- How to get involved with the HHDC, participate in Novice Training Day, and attend competitive tournaments will all be touched on the day of as well
