Keke Chambers
Keke, formally known as Keonna Chambers, is a certified Trauma-informed Facilitator, CBT-Mindfulness Facilitator and 300HR Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor in Yin, Vinyasa and Hatha. As well as a certified Sound Healer and Reiki Practitioner. She is a semi-retired professional dancer and infuses her love of movement into her teachings through play-like exploration of what the body is capable of. She graduated from TMU in Fashion Design and Production. After a health scare and being awoken to the toxicity of fast fashion, she left the fashion industry with a strong focus on sustainability and holistic wellness practices both in her personal life and teachings. She is a published author and has worked at the I am Research Lab at UofT, as well as all three levels of government and a multitude of local nonprofits around holistic wellness development through movement and writing, LGBTQ+ inclusivity, gender equality and uplifting the Black community in her home-city Toronto. She believes her social, political and academic work ties in perfectly with mindfulness and yoga. Especially with the goal of decolonizing yoga and providing accessible approaches for all, with an emphasis on teaching the philosophy and true roots of yoga in her classes and workshops.
