University of Toronto Advancement's Black History Month Luncheon returns with prizes, performances and a celebration of Black excellence.
The annual Black History Month luncheon provides a platform to hear from inspiring speakers, see dynamic performances and celebrate community in a welcoming space. We are delighted to spotlight this year's special guest former Governor General, The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean who will be presented with an achievement award for her contributions. The event will include an address by our guest of honour, followed by a Q and A.

Michaëlle Jean
Former Governor General and Commander in Chief of Canada
Michaelle Jean is a former Governor General and Commander in Chief of Canada, the first black woman to reach the highest constitutional office in the country. She has served the United Nations as a UNESCO Special Envoy and served as the Secretary General La Francophonie. She currently serves as Chancellor of United College at the University of Waterloo.
