First-year Students Join a Committee!

Become a leader in the arts, wellness and dialogue.

Join a Committee

Are you a first-year student? This is your opportunity to be a leader.

Hart House has long stood as a place of learning, expression and fun. We have an array of Standing Committees that represent broad areas of interest and learning. Their members help develop programs for students and communities!

Join Art, Debates & Dialogue, Hart House Farm, Literary & Library, Music, Recreational Athletics & Wellness, Social Justice or Hart House Theatre.

All students are welcome to apply. Now is the time to make a difference. Through your commitment and input, you will learn about the committee process, as well as program planning and management—have your voice heard and your ideas made real. View the application form for details on how to get involved as a voting member and first-year representative.

If you have any questions, contact Cynthia Nevins.

First-year Student Voting Member Applications

One voting position on each committee is specifically for a first-year student. All committees accept non-voting committee members that participate all year long, so even if you aren’t elected to a voting position, you can still be involved.

Eligibility Criteria: All first-year University of Toronto students

Submission Deadline: October 8, 2021, at 11:59 pm

Hart House Standing Committees

Standing Committees meet approximately every 3 weeks—sometimes in the morning, other times in the evening depending on student availability. Develop leadership skills and work with others to make a difference. Choose from one of ten interest-based committees.
