World Cup 2022 Bracket Contest

Overview

Visit the Arbor Room for the start of the World Cup 2022 play-off games, fill in a paper bracket form and enter the contest for a chance to win an Adidas Al Rihla Training World Cup 2022 Football Soccer Ball with a total value of $68 plus taxes.

Only current U of T students can enter the contest, and participants will score 1 point for each correct play-off game win.

Contest Rules and Process

This Contest is open to the U of T community, who are aged 18 or older at time of entry to the Contest.

This Contest is subject to all applicable laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada, as well as these Contest rules. By entering the Contest, you indicate your agreement to be bound by these rules.

U of T accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason and is not responsible for any miscommunications, failed communications systems, software malfunctions, or for any human errors in connection with the contest. U of T may suspend or terminate this contest if it is of the view, in its sole discretion, that the contest’s administration or fair play has been compromised.

The decisions of U of T in relation to this contest will be final and binding on all entrants.

Key Dates

This contest opens on December 2, 2022 and closes on December 18, 2022.

How to Play/Enter

Visit the Arbor Room on December 2, 2022, from 10am-4pm, to fill out a bracket paper form noting your guesses at the 16 play-off game winners of the World Cup 2022 games. For each correct guess at the game winner, a point will be awarded. The U of T student with the highest number of points at the end of the 16 games will be deemed the winner.

Prize Draw

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter the Contest.

By visiting the Arbor Room on December 2, 2022, and participating in the World Cup 2022 Bracket Contest, points will be accumulated for the playoff games winners of the World Cup games until the end of the games on December 18, 2022.

In the chance of a tie breaker, the U of T student with the closest guess to the Final game score will be deemed the winner.

If the student with the highest score, meaning they have chosen the winners of each game play-off game correctly, is present for the Final game on December 18th, their student status will be verified on the spot, a contest waiver will be signed, and the prize will be awarded to them, deeming the student the winner.

If the student with the highest score is not present for the Final game, they will be contacted via email by December 20th, 2022. The winner's student status will be verified, a contest waiver will be signed, and the prize will be available in January 2023 for pick up.

Prizes

The prize of the World Cup 2022 Bracket Contest will be an Adidas Al Rihla Training World Cup 2022 Football Soccer Ball.

Result will be announced in January 2023.

The prize must be accepted as awarded. The prize is non-transferable, and no substitution of the prize is permitted except by U of T at its sole discretion. U of T reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes of equal or greater value if the prize as described cannot be awarded as described for any reason.

U of T is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with the Contest.

The winner will be notified by January 4, 2023, within 15 days of the closing date. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 15 days of notification, U of T reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner.

U of T will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.

Additional Information

By entering the Contest, you agree to permit U of T to use your first name and the first initial of your last name on various U of T and Hart House communication platforms, including, without limitation, websites and social media for the purpose of results announcement.

U of T reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend the Contest, at its discretion, at any time without prior notice.

Your personal information is collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA). This information provided to enter the World Cup 2022 Bracket Contest will be used only to administer the Contest, and for no other reason. Questions about the collection of this information may be directed to Hart House Communications.

By entering the Contest, you agree to release, hold harmless, and indemnify U of T, and its Governors, officers, employees, affiliated entities (including, without limitation, Hart House) and agents from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) whatsoever to which any of them may become subject arising from your actions or omissions.

The Governing Council of the University of Toronto (“U of T”) is the contest sponsor of the Contest.
