Mentorship

Mentorship Opportunities for Theatre and the Performing Arts.

Mentorship is one of the leading principles of Hart House Theatre.

Whether working on a production with professionals on stage or behind the scenes, receiving professional guidance on student-led productions, or having a professional consultation for your next creative endeavour; our mentors are always willing to assist you with your inquiries and help you take your artistic practice to the next level. The Dr. David E. Gardner Apprentice Director Program

The Dr. David E. Gardner Apprentice Director Program celebrates Dr. Gardner’s legacy of supporting and nurturing Canada's next generation of artists at Hart House Theatre, which he considered his "home theatre". Since its creation in 2014, the program has supported at least one U of T Student Apprentice Director each season, providing them with much-needed practical experience by working alongside professional directors on full-scale, high-quality productions at Hart House Theatre.

The Dr. David E. Gardner Apprentice Director Program is currently being presented through our on-stage educational partnerships. This is an opportunity for a current University of Toronto full/part-time student or recent graduate within 1 calendar year. Applications traditionally open in September.
