Join us in Hart House Theatre on Thursday, May 18 from 7 - 9:30 pm to hear about all the different avenues who can explore post theatre school. Featuring Cass Van Wyck, Co-Artistic Director of the Assembly Theatre and Artistic Director of One Four One Collective, Aidan Morishita-Miki, Manager of Marketing and Outreach at Buddies and Bad Times Theatre, and Rohan Kulkarni, Director of Education and Community Engagement at Soulpepper Theatre Company. We will discuss the pros of working in arts admin and all the different career paths open to you.

Rohan Kulkarni
Rohan is an arts manager and educator based in Toronto. He holds an MA in Drama from the University of Alberta. He has taught at U of T and the University of Alberta, offered pre-performance talks for Edmonton Opera and Soulpepper Theatre, and contributed program notes for several theatre and opera productions. Currently, Rohan works as the Director of Education & Community Engagement at Soulpepper Theatre, leading the company’s renowned emerging artist training programs including the Soulpepper Academy, City Youth Academy, and Queer Youth Cabaret. He is passionate about mentoring early career artists and arts administrators, as well as connecting diverse communities through the arts.

Aidan Morishita-Miki
Aidan (he/him) is an arts administrator, stage manager, and plant dad. He is currently the Manager of Communications and Development at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. He’s worked in various capacities with companies including FIXT POINT Arts & Media, ReDefine Arts, Boys in Chairs Collective, Ars Mechanica, Hart House Theatre, SummerWorks, and the Toronto Fringe. He recently co-created Revelations, a gamified theatre piece, which was commissioned by Upintheair Theatre through their Updrafts program.

Cass Van Wyck
Cass Van Wyck (she/her) is double Dora-nominated actor/producer who splits her time between her positions as Co-Artistic of the Assembly Theatre and Artistic Director of One Four One Collective. Throughout her 10+ year acting career, she has performed in the UK and all throughout Canada working with many notable directors including Daniel MacIvor, Soheil Parsa, and Marie Farsi. Select credits include Tracy in Two Minutes to Midnight (The Assembly Theatre, 2022 Dora Nomination – Outstanding Performance by an Individual), Shelley in The Huns (One Four One Collective, 2022 Dora Nomination – Outstanding Performance by an Individual) and Moira in Therac 25 (Unit 102 Actors Co., 2019 My Entertainment World Critics’ Pick Award Nomination - Outstanding Leading Performance). Cass is excited to be making her directorial debut this coming May 2023 with Bone Cage by Catherine Banks at The Assembly Theatre. Originally from the small town of Fenwick, Ontario, Cass currently lives in Toronto and can normally be found baking chocolate chip cookies and cheering on the Blue Jays.
