Musical Theatre for Beginners

Are you a fan of musicals? Have you ever wondered how performers dance flawlessly in unison? Want to master your step ball change and chaines?

Come join the University of Toronto Dance Team for a workshop to learn a Musical Theatre combo and have the opportunity to feel what it is like to dance on the historic Hart House Theatre stage. This workshop is suitable for beginners, but all levels of experience are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring indoor shoes, dance shoes or socks to dance in. No outdoor shoes will be allowed on the stage.

The University of Toronto Dance Team aims to provide students with the opportunity to continue dance at an elite level while pursuing their post-secondary studies. The team trains and performs in a variety styles of dance, including jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip-hop. They are a multi-faceted team that strives to uphold a legacy of excellence and professionalism within both U of T and the dance community as a whole. Hart House Theatre is only accessible from the outside of the Hart House building. It is located in the sub-basement of Hart House. The entrances to the Theatre (Audience Entrance and Stage Door) are outside of the building on either side of the entrance into the Arbor Room Cafe. Please enter through the Stage Door, located under the blue U of T banner. There are two flights of stairs to enter the Theatre.
