University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine presents the Daffydil 2024 Production, An Inkling in Time, in support of The Canadian Cancer Society.
For 113 years, the students at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine have produced Daffydil, a theatrical production fundraiser in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Since 1897, Daffydil has raised over $700,000 to support research and services.
This year Daffydil is thrilled to be back with a musical production entitled An Inkling in Time - entirely written, produced, directed and performed by medical students. Daffydil has become a defining component of the student experience, entertaining more than 1200 people each year and bringing together students, alumni, and the Toronto community in support of fighting cancer.
This year’s musical takes some inspiration from murder mysteries and time travel with a dose of romance. It follows a group of clerks who find themselves transported to a hospital in the 80s after being sucked into an MRI machine. There, they meet the much younger version (40 years younger, to be exact) of their preceptor, Dr. Basil, who suddenly disappears and is presumably kidnapped. They must put aside personal grievances in order to work together and solve the mysteries: Who kidnapped Dr. Basil? Why were they sent to the 80s? And most importantly, how do they get back to present time?
Daffydil has become a defining component of the student experience and entertains more than 1200 people each year. Daffydil brings together students of various faculties, UofT Alumni, and the broader Toronto community in support of the fight against cancer. We invite you to join us at Hart House Theatre February 22 - 24, 2024 in support of The Canadian Cancer Society.
