Overview
The 2018/2019 Hart House Theatre Season continues our tradition of presenting a variety of audience pleasing favourites: musicals from today and yesterday classic tales and Canadian works, all created by the high-calibre emergent talent for which we are known.
We open the Season in September with a musical version of a deadly, cult-hit movie, Heathers: The Musical. This show enjoys an edgy reputation and is sure to be a sassy start to our season. In November, we stage an classic tale that has been given a new life and lens by a Canadian icon with Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad. In the New Year, we take a fresh look at the original rock musical, Hair — a timely exploration of community unrest and civic protest. Retreat, a delightful, dark comedy and a hit on Toronto's indie theatre scene, rounds out the season in March.
