Historic venue, modern service
Whether you are planning a trade show or a business meeting, Hart House offers fully customizable services to ensure your event is a success with details fine-tuned to suit your group size, preferred set up and catering requests.
Your event coordinator will discuss your requests and requirements and design an event package suited to your individual needs. Your coordinator will also manage all of the details leading up to your event date. During your event, our dedicated staff will oversee the execution of your event plan and be on hand for emerging questions or requirements.
As a member of the U of T community, Hart House follows all the safety guidelines outlined by the University. We are pleased to offer this level of assurance to you and your guests. Our team can assist in informing you of our updated service standards, ensuring you and your guests are safe and comfortable while enjoying your event.
Services
Hart House understands that each event is unique. We design our event service packages in partnership with our clients, customizing them to meet the needs and specifications of the occasion. Please note that the available services may fluctuate with any changes in the provincial and university safety guidelines.

Spectacular Architecture
Many of the rooms have working fireplaces, which add to the ambiance. Hart House is home to a number of grand and upright pianos, including a glorious nine-foot Steinway concert grand piano.
Room Selection
Hart House offers a variety of rooms in a range of sizes for every occasion. You also have the option to book a suite of rooms to accommodate a full-day conference, with meals in one room and breakout meetings in adjoining rooms.
Furnishings & Staging
Your coordinator will draw up a detailed plan of the room set-up for your approval, and will note all set-up requirements, including tables, chairs, AV equipment, podiums, risers, projectors, drapery, lighting, etc.
Catering
Using the finest ingredients, Executive Chef Marco Tucci will prepare a menu that will impress. Whether you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or something else to suit your palate, there is a wide variety of options to choose from. Every prepared dish is fresh, seasonal and absolutely delicious.
Staffing
Our team of experienced event professionals will be on hand the day of your event to provide responsive service, ensuring your event is a success.
Audio/Video Support
Hart House has a wide range of equipment available for rent for your event, and our team specializes in setting up and operating our audio, projection, lighting and staging services.
Fitness & Wellness
Hart House is home to a fully equipped fitness facility with a pool and can organize a variety of options for your attendees, including day passes purchased by the event organizer for guests, and day passes made available to guests for purchase.

Can I create my own menu?
Our Executive Chef is happy to customize a menu to suit various tastes and budgets.

Can Hart House accommodate kosher food service?
If you have a few guests that require kosher meals, we are happy to make arrangements for you. Currently, we are unable to provide a full kosher catering.

Some of my guests have intolerances to food items such as gluten and nuts. Can you accommodate?
Our Executive Chef is happy to adapt your menu or create a special Chef’s Choice plate to accommodate those individuals with dietary restrictions. Hart House is not able to provide in-house kosher catering but can work with local providers to accommodate these requests.

Will my guests be able to plug in their laptops?
Hart House is a historic building with limited power outlets. A general outline of your power requirements should be submitted at the time of booking.

Will my guests be able to access your Wi-Fi?
Hart House offers access to the wireless network free of charge. Please ask your event coordinator for details.

What decor and decorative elements do you provide?
Hart House provides tables, chairs, white damask linen, tableware and votive candles for most catered events. Some items may come at an additional cost—please ask your coordinator for more details. As Hart House is a heritage building, your event coordinator must approve any additional decor elements you wish to provide.

Is catering served in the same room that we book?
Catering is typically served in the same room, but separate spaces are available for rental.

Are your venue facilities accessible?
With the exception of the dining room of the Gallery Grill, all of our meeting and event spaces are fully accessible, including the Gallery Grill lounge. If you require special accommodations, please notify us when booking.

Is there parking available?
Hart House does not provide parking; however, there are approximately 260 parking spots on Hart House Circle, King’s College Circle and Tower Road. This parking is open to the public and we cannot guarantee availability.
If special parking arrangements are necessary, please call the University of Toronto Parking & Transportation Services at 416-978-PARK (7275).
During the month of June, parking can be very limited due to Convocation ceremonies. Events occurring in and around the University of Toronto may not be communicated to Hart House and could affect parking and access to campus. Please call Parking & Transportation Services (416-978-PARK) or the Office of Space Management (416-978-2187) for further information.
