Yousuf Karsh is often referred to as the greatest portrait photographer of the 20th century. Karsh had a unique history with Hart House; he was a judge at the annual Camera Club Salon in 1953-54 where he introduced the Karsh Trophy for the best photograph of campus life taken at the University of Toronto. In honour of its centennial year, Hart House is pleased to present a special exhibit of Karsh-worthy pieces featuring a retrospective display of photos taken by members of the Hart House Camera Club throughout the years plus a number of award-winning contemporary images depicting modern campus-life.
