In Conversation

Join the Hart House Student Debates & Dialogue Committee for an insightful afternoon with Mark MacKinnon, senior international correspondent from The Globe and Mail. Mark has covered elections, wars, revolutions, and refugee crises all over the world, and now he’s bringing his incredible stories and insights to our campus.

Our moderators will dive into Mark’s field reporting on Ukraine, including the Russian invasion and the rescue of foreign nationals in Afghanistan. If interested, it is encouraged that you read the article here before the event. You'll also hear about Mark’s thrilling and sometimes dangerous experiences in field reporting and journalism, offering a behind-the-scenes look at international reporting. Finally, discover what students can do now as truth seekers and storytellers. Learn how to make an impact and change the international discourse as an individual, within a community, or as a student body.

At the end of the moderation, there will be a Q&A session where participants will have the opportunity to ask Mark questions about his career and his special release article on Ukraine.

Don’t miss this chance to engage directly and gain invaluable insights from one of Canada’s most decorated foreign correspondents! Be inspired and learn how you too can become a voice for change.
