Welcome back alumni and friends! We invite you to rediscover the wonder of Hart House. Please join us for a special live performance from an esteemed Hart House talent, Jennifer Walls, and enjoy a special evening under the stars in the company of good friends.
In case of rain, this event will be held in the Hart House Great Hall.

Jennifer Walls
Jennifer (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary theatre practitioner, impressionist and educator. She has enjoyed a twenty year career in live performance and now also works as a director, producer, consultant and designer/stylist. She is also the host/producer of Singular Sensation, A Musical Theatre Open Mic and is thrilled to partner with Hart House Theatre once again for this year’s Musical Theatre Slam.
As a performer, Jennifer has performed on stages across North America and the UK and is best known for her work as in impressionist and has been nicknamed the “woman of a thousand voices”. She was a named one of Canada’s top tribute acts for her touring work as Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga with Continental Entertainment’s Stars Of Pop and has earned critical acclaim for her portrayal as Liza Minnelli in her solo show Liza Live, featured at both Toronto Fringe & Next Stage Festivals as well Liza & Barbra Together Again with friend and colleague Gabi Epstain. Her work as an impressionist has also been featured in original shows for The Victoria Playhouse Petrolia, Drayton Entertainment and a variety of major festivals including Toronto and World Pride. She has spent 7 seasons with the Victoria Playhouse in Petrolia where she most notably performed alongside Broadway legend Ben Vereen and was featured as 21 different celebrity characters in last season’s Dynamic Duos. She has also worked for a variety of theatre companies, prestigious festivals and special events as both a performer and host. She is also a successful voice actor and can be heard as the voice of The Family Channel, Family Jr. and WildBrain TV.
As a director, Jennifer has directed two productions of The Rocky Horror Show, one for The Lower Ossington Theatre and one for Hart House Theatre in 2019 with fellow adjudicator Stephan Dickson, for which she received the Subscriber’s Award for “Favourite Direction. She has also directed Heathers: The Musical also for Hart House, Mandy Goodhandy’s Just Call Me Lady for Toronto Pride as well as The National Music Camp’s Shrek Jr. In the new year, Jennifer and Stephan will once again revisit Rocky Horror for St. Lawrence College’s Musical Theatre Performance program.

As a producer, Jennifer has worked alongside a number of award winning solo artists including Adam Francis Proulc (12 Angry Puppets, The Family Crow: A Murder Mystery) Rebecca Perry (Redheaded Coffee Shop Girl series, From Judy To Bette: The Stars of Old Hollywood) and Tim Murphy (Blind To Happines) and has collaborated with theatre companies across the GTA including Pride Toronto, The Musicla Stage Company, Theatre Passe Murielle and The Second City Toronto.
Most recently, fueled by her passion for design and experience styling her own hair and wigs on tour for over a decade, Jennifer made the move into the design world as a wig/hair designer and stylist and has designed/styled wigs for a number of independent performers, entertainment companies and theatre productions including Legally Blonde: The Musical (Hart House Theatre) 9-5 The Musical (Capitol Theatre) and her proudest achievement, designing/styling all 41 wigs for Dynamic Duos at The Victoria Playhouse Petrolia.
In addition to her work in theatre and performance, Jennifer is a voice & performance coach as well as a mentor for emerging artists and producers. As a neurodivergent performer/creative herself, Jennifer has studied with Dr. Shannon Coates has a special interest in and passion for inclusive teaching practices. She is grateful for the opportunity to once again partner with Hart House Theatre, who have played a pivotal role in her development as an artist and creative and looks forward to meeting this year’s performers! -
Mark Selby
Mark Selby is often found at the piano as a musical director and accompanist for cabarets, shows, auditions, and workshops, and he is thrilled to be back playing for the incredible Jeni Walls at Hart House, where he performed, produced, and directed at Hart House Theatre, including the Canadian premiere of the musical High Fidelity. In his other work in broadcast TV, Mark has produced a number of projects including Oscar Peterson: Black + White, a feature “docu-concert” that premiered at TIFF 202, now streaming on Crave (Canada) and Hulu (USA); The Talented Mr. Rosenberg (a Hot Docs 2022 premiere now streaming on CBC Gem); and annual live broadcasts of the Scotiabank Giller Prize for CBC.
