Overview
Join us Thursdays from 11am–1pm for free drop-in crafting sessions and workshops. Learn basic skills for various crafts including sewing, papercraft, collage, printing, painting, and more.
We provide everything, including all the tools and materials. Or, bring whatever you are working on, hang out in a big comfy chair, trade tips with other crafters, and catch up with some old friends while meeting new ones over all things crafty.
Get Crafty! is your weekly craft interlude on the U of T campus and your opportunity to take a break and de-stress. Quick and cool crafts add a little creativity to your day.
Tools and materials will be provided. No prior experience is required.

Vision Boards
Thinking about your goals for the New year? Let’s make collage vision boards for 2023 for a creative collage workshop to help inspire us to reach our goals! Bring your friends and start thinking about your goals for the year and what you want to feature on your vision board! Feel free to bring your own magazine pages, quotes, or photographs to add to your vision board if you have something specific in mind.

Resolution accountability tracker notebooks
DIY resolution accountability trackers will surely help us stick to our New Year’s resolutions this year!

Watercolour Workshop
Back to school after the winter break can be an overwhelming time of the year so join us this Thursday for a relaxing watercolour painting tutorial! If you enjoyed making watercolour bookmarks last semester this tutorial will teach a few more watercolour techniques that can be used for bookmarks, DIY cards, paintings, and more!

Hand Stitching Felt Phone Cozy
Do you have trouble turning your phone off at night? Not checking your phone before you go to bed can be very beneficial for sleep! Join us this Thursday to make phone cozies to put your cell phone to sleep every night!

Hand Stitching Felt Hearts for Valentine's Day
We hope you enjoyed hand-stitching phone cozies last week! With Valentine’s Day soon we will be hand-stitching felt hearts this week. Bring your friends to sew hearts with as the perfect Valentine’s Day gift or to keep for yourself!

U of T Cooks Cooking Collaboration
Happy Valentine’s Week! This week we will be hosting an awesome Valentine’s Day Event in collaboration with U of T’s premiere cooking club, U of T Cooks! The U of T Cooks sous chefs will be teaching cookie decoration and professional tips and tricks for icing piping! Bring your friends to decorate cookies with!

Get Craft Weekends: Acrylic Painting on Canvas
Interested in painting with acrylic? Join us on Saturday, February 25 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the Music Room on the second floor of Hart House for this event!
All materials will be provided free of charge.

Embroidery
Embroidery is such a fun way to embellish a pair of jeans, embroider a wall hanging, or simply embroider gift for a friend! The Get Crafty! The team will teach how to embroider different stitches, and knots, and how to use these techniques to embroider a flower.

Greeting Cards and Thank-you Cards
Looking for a card to send to your friend? On Thursday we will be making greeting cards and thank you cards using collage materials and watercolour. See you there!

Painting Tote Bags
Tote bags are always helpful to carry books to class or even to give as a gift to a friend. However, hand and painted tote bags are much more fun! Join us this Thursday to paint your own tote bag using acrylic paint!
All materials will be provided, this event is drop in. If you have your own tote bag, please bring it to paint since supplies for this event are limited.

Get Craft Weekends: Knitting and Crochet
If you love knitting and crochet or want to learn how to knit and crochet join us on Saturday, March 18! The Get Crafty team will host a knitting and crochet afternoon on from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the Bickersteth Room on the third floor of Hart House.
Please bring your own knitting needles, crochet hook, and yarn if you have them. Get Crafty will provide a limited amount of supplies for this event.

Quilling
Interested in creating your own paper design using quilling? Join us for an easy quilling tutorial this Thursday!

Get Crafty Weekends: Create Your Own Zoetrope
Curious to learn how animation was created? Join us to create your own Zoetrope and learn animation skills! This event will take place on Saturday, April 1 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the Debates Room on the second floor of Hart House.
All materials will be provided free of charge.

Tie Dye
We are sad to be approaching our final Get Crafty tutorial of the year, but we are so excited to be hosting a tie dye tutorial with everyone this week! Join us in the Hart House Quad for our last Get Crafty tutorial of the year! See you there!
All materials will be provided, this event is drop in. Get Crafty will provide cloth handkerchiefs to tie dye but if you would like to tie dye your own t-shirt, please bring it with you!
