Hart House Orchestra

The orchestra has a large membership of dedicated but non-professional members who enjoy classical music. We perform 4 concerts a year at Hart House, as well as one concert out of town. The Orchestra holds two open rehearsals at the beginning of the year for people to come have some fun and see what our group is all about!

Auditions are required for everyone, including returning members. We often have spots available in the string section, so please contact us if you are interested.

Our annual Concerto Competition is held in the second term and is open to anyone. Weekly rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 8-11 pm in the Great Hall at Hart House. Like all Hart House clubs, membership is open to all. The orchestra exists to help those people interested in fine-tuning their playing skills and techniques to reach a higher level of proficiency while tackling a difficult and rich repertoire.
