About this class

Students will create a project, capture footage, organize their media, use the workspace effectively, and learn all the basic cutting techniques needed to get started on their own projects. Students wishing to learn Final Cut Pro will also benefit from this class since the two programs are extremely similar.

This class is a hands-on 'lab-style' class but students are expected to bring their own laptop computers each day with Adobe Premiere installed and running. A free download of the Premiere Pro CS6 is available on the Adobe website. The program is available for both Windows and Macintosh. A 64-bit computer is required. If you can only provide an older version of Premiere for yourself you will still get the full benefit of this class since the introductory features have not changed in any significant way.

The Hart House Film Board has two editing computers with Adobe Premiere Pro installed available to its membership. It can be reserved by visiting the Film Board website.
