Kate has been studying and practising various forms of yoga since 2003. In addition to completing a 200-hour Yoga Education program at the Octopus Garden Holistic Yoga Centre, she completed a rigorous three-year SmartYoga™ therapeutic yoga apprenticeship in Vancouver. Dedicated to the exploration and healing of the body, she attempts to translate the therapeutic power of Vinyasa yoga in every class.
Vivien has been practising Yoga for over twenty years and teaching since 1992. Her teacher certification is from the Esther Myers Yoga Studio. Besides teaching at Hart House, she owns Vital Breath Yoga Studio in Toronto’s east end where she teaches Hatha Yoga, Qigong, Core Strength and Weight lifting.
“My goal as a teacher is to help students explore all aspects of Yoga with poses that are vigorous, requiring strength, balance and flexibility, and with poses that are still, requiring focus, intent and the ability to stay present.”
Rachel has been practicing Yoga since 1998 and is trained in the tradition of TKV Desikachar by Rosemary Antze. She has explored in depth asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), chant, meditation and texts. She teaches in an environment of warmth and enthusiasm, encouraging each student to work at their level and to develop their personal practice.
Rosemary Jeanes Antze
Rosemary is the senior Canadian teacher in the yoga tradition of TKV Desikachar. A former dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, she draws her approach to yoga from a deep understanding of breath and movement, academic training in Sanskrit and Indian philosophy, and studies with Desikachar in India. Her teaching encourages personal practice and addresses the needs of each individual, leading to physical well-being and mental clarity.
