James Wallis, Director

James WallisFor Hart House Theatre: Debut

Selected Credits: Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Shakespeare BASH’d. Director of Romeo and Juliet, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, The Merry Wives of Windsor, King John, and numerous staged readings. Additional Director Credits: reasons to be pretty (The Labute Cycle), As You Like It (Theatre by the Bay), Shakespeare in Hospitals (Spur of the Moment).  

About: James just finished his second season at The Stratford Festival as part of the Michael Langham Workshop for Classical Direction where he was the assistant director for Macbeth with Antoni Cimolini, Bunny by Hannah Moscovitch with Sarah Stanley, and Romeo and Juliet with Scott Wentworth. Next summer he will return for his third season to assistant direct Julius Caesar with Scott Wentworth. He’d like to thank Julia for all her amazing and complete support.

About: Holly Meyer-Dymny is a theatre designer and visual artist based in Ontario. She has designed for opera, theatre, and dance productions with companies such as Hart House Theatre, Opera on the Avalon, Opera Lyra Ottawa, TOES for Dance, and Smile Theatre. Set design: This is the August (Summerworks), The Physical Ramifications of Attempted Global Domination (Birdtown and Swanville). Puppet design: Family Story (Birdtown and Swanville). Assistant costume design: The Road to Paradise (Crows/Human Cargo); My Granny the Goldfish, The Rez Sisters (Factory Theatre) and four season at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

About: Allie is a set and costume designer based in Toronto. In 2017 Allie’s work with Bad New Days was nominated for a Dora Award for Outstanding Costume Design. She has also worked as a wardrobe coordinator for the Blyth Festival,  Ross Petty Productions, Factory Theatre, Mirvish/Canadian Rep Theatre, Company Theatre and Obsidian Theatre.

About: Kathleen is an award-nominated stage manager, working predominantly in the Toronto indie theatre scene and has a passion for facilitating the rehearsal and performance process. A graduate of York University’s Theatre Production program and Humber College’s Event Management graduate program. Her hometown is Wawa, Ontario, which you may know of if you’ve ever been hitchhiking.
