Elizabeth Kantor, Production Designer

Elizabeth KantorFor Hart House Theatre: Set Designer Bone Cage

About: Elizabeth is an arts manager, producer and designer. She holds a B.A. from the University of Ottawa, and is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Production Program.

Most recently she managed the Kensington Market 25th Winter Solstice Parade, coordinated the workshop production We Keep Coming Back with Selfconscious Theatre in Szczecin, Poland; and, orchestrated SummerWorks, Canada’s largest juried performing arts festival, as both the festival Associate Producer and Curator of the interdisciplinary Live Art series.

Her work as a production designer for the award-winning production HUFF, by Cliff Cardinal, has been seen across the country. HUFF recently completed its multi-year national tour with presentations at the Magnetic North Theatre Festival; the PUSH International Performing Arts Festival; the Yukon Arts Centre’s Pivto Festival; and, as a part of the National Arts Centre 2013-2014 season. Elizabeth was also the production’s Producer and Tour Manager.

Upcoming: Elizabeth will be assisting artist Alex Bulmer and Sarah Garton Stanley, Associate Artistic Director of the National Arts Centre, with their presentation, The Republic of Inclusion, at PROGRESS, the inaugural international festival of performance and ideas.

About: Jackie is a set and props designer specializing in period work for both theatre and short films. She recently acted as production designer for High School Health, a short film and installation project for the Luminato Festival starring Atom Egoyan and Ann-Marie MacDonald.

About: Amanda is very excited to be working with Hart House Theatre. She is currently working on her PhD at the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies, as well as being the Artistic Director and co-founder of Theatre Double Take and co-creator of the comedy podcast Duotang Chesterfield’s Mystery Theatre.
