Fitness Room Booking


The Activities Room, Exercise Room, Lower Gym and the Fitness Room are available to U of T student groups for booking activities. Registered classes and drop in classes are also booked in these rooms.

How to Book a Fitness Space

1. A group representative must make the reservation in person by presenting their valid membership, or current UofT student card. Bookings for the upcoming week begin Wednesdays at 7am, and must be made at least two working days before the date requested. In most cases, 55 minutes may be reserved. The group representative must be present at the booking.

2. An additional 55 minutes in a week may be reserved if it is available. The additional 55 minutes may be booked two working days in advance of the reservation date.

3. In the event of cancellation please notify The HUB 416.978.2452 at least 2 working days in advance. Failure to provide proper notification will result in penalty. Any infraction will result in an automatic suspension of booking privileges.

4. Membership/student cards are required for all individuals in each group. Any non-members must be sponsored by a Hart House member and are required to pay a $15 guest fee at The HUB prior to checking in at the Athletics Reception Desk.

5. Proper gym wear and clean, non-marking athletic shoes must be worn in all areas of the Athletics Facility. All coats and bags are to be checked into day lockers and NOT taken into the facility. Food or beverages are NOT permitted in the Athletics wing of the House.

6. Spectators, photography or fundraising of any kind are not permitted.

7. The playing of ball sports is restricted to the Lower Gym.


Reserving the Gym

Gym reservations are made at The HUB and are limited to 55 minutes per group per week. Each Wednesday at 7:00 am we start taking bookings for the following week (Monday to Sunday). Arrive early on Wednesday for best selection—the gym gets booked quickly.

All gym bookings and cancellations must be made a minimum of two days in advance. At the time of the reservation, all groups must have, at minimum, eight players by 15 minutes after the hour. (If eight players are not present by 15 minutes past the hour, the time becomes open gym time.) Groups must leave the gym five minutes prior to the next scheduled group or class.

A minimum of 8 players are required throughout your reservation. For the Lower Gym, if 8 players are not present by 15 minutes after the hour, the hour reverts to “free gym time.” If there are two groups that wish to play different sports, the group with the largest number of players may use the gym time.

The gym may be booked and used for the following activities: basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, dodge ball, kin-ball and ultimate.

Squash Courts

3. CSA approved eye protection must be worn on the courts.
4. Squash racquets, balls and eye protection are provided for lessons only.
