Workshop Series: Where Does Change Happen?


tile_workshop_slpIf you’ve always wondered how to affect change in your community, how great ideas are generated and big decisions are made, this five-session workshop will help you explore these questions and more.

Details: Join students from UTM, UTSC and UTSG to connect with others and learn about community advocacy, social enterprise and social change by visiting community partners throughout the GTA.

Participants must attend four or the five sessions for the program to be recognized on their co-curricular record. For more information, and to register online, visit Student Life.

Session 1: Focus: Introduction

Session 2: How change is happening for Indigenous communities in Scarborough
When: Wed., Oct. 26, 2016, 2:30–5:30 pm
Location: Eastview Public School

Session 3: What is Social Enterprise and how can it create change and strengthen community?
When: Wed., Nov. 2, 2016, 2:30–5:30 pm
Where: The Centre for Social Innovation

Session 4: How does community-based advocacy that take place within the Municipal Government structure?
When: Wed., Nov. 9, 2016, 2:30–5:30 pm
Where: City Council, Toronto City Hall

Session 5: Wrap-up and Next Steps
When: Wed., Nov. 16, 2016, 2:30–5:30 pm
