2012 / 2013 Show Dates:

November 2012: UofT Idol

AdaOctober 2012 Winner: Ada Chan
For Ada, music is a transcendental language, it does not speak, it feels. When she performs, she becomes her music and feels the warmth and happiness that radiates from her audience. Since childhood, she has had an affinity with instruments and sounds, playing the piano beginning in third grade, teaching herself the acoustic guitar in university, and belting out her vocal chords on stage.

Aninda BoseNovember 2012 Winner: Anindita Bose
Anindita Bose, is a fourth year student studying biological anthropology. She started singing at the age of 3 and has participated in school choirs and took vocals throughout high school. Entering university had put nearly a 3 year break from music, until U of T Idol gave her the opportunity to shine.

AlexaJanuary 2013 Winner: Alexa Swaby
I am a fourth year student at U of T majoring in Sociology with minors in Caribbean studies and Spanish. Music has always been a passion of mine even though I don’t study it right now at the university level. Along with singing, I also dance for Fo’Real Dance Crew, a competitive hip-hop dance crew at U of T. I have never sung at U of T. In fact, most people don’t even know I can! It’s been 4 years since I have sung in public. It’s also the first time that I am singing by myself. I am very gracious to UofT Idol and all the organizers behind this event for this opportunity.

Daniel OhFebruary 2013 Winner: Daniel Oh
Daniel has been an active performer since the age of 14. As a member of several jazz, rock, and blues bands, he has played at a variety of venues. In addition to these bands, he has also performed solo many times. He is a multi-instrumentalist, having played guitar, trumpet, and piano. Daniel has an extreme passion for music, and has been able to expand the range of genres he has been able to perform, if only for the enjoyment of doing so.
