Storying Together

Details: As part of Indigenous Education Week, Storying Together is about the power of storytelling and what part it plays in forming, finding and reconciling identity(ies). This event will feature a screening of Weaving the Sash, a short film about urban Métis youth connecting to identity and community through culture and tradition, digital stories from Metis community members, and an in-person sharing circle facilitated by Métis student, Elise St. Germain and settler-Canadian student, Gabriele Simmons. The story-making process of the Toronto and York Region Métis community and the work of its Council will be highlighted.

This event represents the partnership between Hart House, New College community-engaged learning students working for the Toronto and York Region Métis Council, the Infinite Reach Network and First Nations House.

We encourage families to attend. Childminding will be provided.

When: Tues., Jan. 24, 2017, 6:30-9 pm
Where: East Common Room, Hart House
Cost: Free
