About the Chorus: The Hart House Chorus is a 50-member SATB choir comprised of students, faculty and alumni at the University of Toronto, as well as community members. Performances include one concert in the fall (November) and one in the spring (March), which are held in the Great Hall at Hart House. The choir also participates in the Intervarsity Choral Festival (IVCF) and the Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11, and is often hired to perform at private events and weddings throughout the city. Our repertoire is generally classical, but often extends into a wide range of musical styles, including contemporary and even pop.

About the Conductor: As of 2012, the Hart House Chorus enjoys the experienced direction of David Bowser, an award-winning choral conductor with broad repertoire and musical skill. Mr. Bowser is currently Music Director and Conductor of the NYCO Symphony Orchestra and the Oakville Choral Society. He is an active guest conductor, composer, university instructor, vocal coach and visual artist, and is a doctoral student at the University of Toronto.

About the Accompanist: Lisa Tahara has joined the Hart House Chorus in 2012 and is currently in the Doctorate of Musical Arts program at the University of Toronto. Over the past 11 years, she has appeared in solo and chamber concerts throughout North America and Europe.
