A portrait of Vandana Vishwas with the red backgroundDetails: Born and raised in India, Vandana Vishwas is an architect by profession and a musician by passion. She is formally trained in North Indian classical vocal music. Her debut music album, Meera-The Lover…, was released in 2009 and created wide ranging ripples in Canadian and U.S. world music circles. Her songs instantly connected not only with south Asian audiences but also with the wider world music audience. Her sophomore album, Monologues, redefines the treatment of traditional south Asian song forms with Western influences.
