Image of Kirk McDonald playing TrompetDetails: Award-winning saxophonist, prolific composer and highly in demand educator, Kirk MacDonald is a bridge between tradition and modern saxophone playing. Based in Toronto, with a reputation as one of Canada’s leading jazz musicians, Kirk has performed on over 45 CDs as leader and sideman. He has played to overwhelmingly receptive and full-capacity audiences in jazz clubs and concert venues in the United States, France, Italy, Holland, Monaco, Australia, Korea, Bermuda, the Bahamas and mostly recently, Spain. For this performance of the Kirk MacDonald Trio, Kirk will be joined by long-time musical colleagues, bassist Neil Swainson and drummer Barry Romberg.
