Picture of the orchestra playing musicDetails: Jim Lewis is a freelance trumpet player, improviser, composer/arranger and educator, and is currently a lecturer in the Jazz Studies Department at the University of Toronto. He can be heard in clubs in the Toronto area, and across the country as a sideman and with his own projects from duo to sextet. Leading students in the jazz program , Jim Lewis leads the 11 O’ Clock Band and stays true to its roots paying homage to big bands while providing a platform for students to breathe new life into old standards and introduce their peers to this enduring style of music.
