Historian Hugh Brewster presents a dramatic depiction of the life of John McCrae, soldier, doctor and poet, with music by the award-winning Elora Singers, conducted by Mark Vuorinen.

Complemented by images, the narrative takes us from McCrae’s boyhood in Guelph and his student days at U of T, to South Africa during the Boer War and to the trenches of the Western Front, where he composes his famous poem. The music ranges from works by Hubert Parry and Edward Elgar to “Frog Went a Courtin” and other popular songs of the period.

A perfect way to commemorate Remembrance Day for all ages!

Powerful and moving. It illuminates an important time in our history.
