Hart House Holiday Open Chess Tournament

Hart House Chess Club Poster ImageJoin us for a chess tournament in the Great Hall this holiday season! Open to all, this tournament offers fun and competitive play and a chance at a $5000 prize. There are various age and skill level groups to accommodate all interested players.

Tournament Details:
Style: 5 rounds in 6 rating sections – Crown (2200+), Under 2200, Under 1900, Under 1600, Under 1300 & U1000 Sections
Time Control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move 1, for all sections

When: Dec. 15-17, 2017, Friday, 6:30 pm / Saturday, 10 am & 3:30 pm / Sunday, 10 am & 3:30 pm
Where: Great Hall, Hart House
Cost: $60 in advance, $80 on site / $20 discount for University of Toronto students

Email registrations must be completed by December 13, 2017, or else considered late. After pre-registering by email, please bring cash payment to the playing site before 5:30 pm on December 15, or mail a cheque which arrives by December 13. If online registrants paying in cash arrive after 5:30 pm on December 15, they cannot be guaranteed a pairing in Round 1. No cheques on-site.

Cheques are to be made payable to Hart House Chess Club and sent to 7 Hart House Circle, Toronto ON, M5S 3H3. No postdated cheques.

Registrants after December 13, 2017 are not guaranteed to be paired in Round 1, and must pay on-site entry fee ($80).

Players taking a bye in Round 1 can pay the entry fee thirty minutes before the start of Round 2 (9:30 am).
