Achieving Peaceful Pluralism in a Globalized World:
The Opportunities and Challenges of Diverse Communities
The Hart House Global Commons is an interdisciplinary space for U of T students (including UTSC and UTM) to engage in real-time dialogue with students who will be participating virtually from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, The University of Cape Town, South Africa, and Indiana University Bloomington. Join us for an exciting opportunity to engage internationally, share perspectives and lived experiences, and explore ways to work in our communities towards peaceful and justice-based pluralism.
The second event of the 2017-2018 series focuses on how communities, including the university itself, contribute to or hinder the conditions needed for a supportive and inclusive society. Amidst a new generation of young people with changing definitions of leadership, how might we best leverage the strengths and capacities of communities to create positive change and transformation within these spaces?
