Fight Like A Girl

Women’s only self -defense workshop and talk by Ryhana Dawood.

Ryhana is currently completing post-graduate medical education in Toronto in the Department of Family Medicine. She is the head instructor and founder of Martial Smarts, a non-profit organization focused on promoting physical health, mental wellness, and self-esteem building, as well as female empowerment through self-defense. She has worked with hundreds of women across the GTA and overseas leading self-defense workshops for many underprivileged groups, schools and universities. She is the head female instructor of UMMA Martial Arts and has been training in Shotokan Karate and ITF Taekwondo for close to 20 years.

This event is presented by the Hart House Recreational Athletics and Wellness Committee. Everyone who identifies as a women and/or trans* person may attend this event.

Cost: Free / Registration required 

* In this case, trans refers to people who identify as transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, non-binary, genderqueer and/or gender diverse.
