Go Fly a Kite
Details: Bring your family to Hart House one Sunday a month for fun, interactive and educational family events that explore cultural diversity through storytelling, music, food, arts and crafts.
Springtime is the season of wind and rain and kites! Learn to make your own kite from our special guest and expert kite maker, Skye Morrison!
We will also be making Garden Dragons, Butterflies and more! All ages welcome. All materials provided.
Skye Morrison, a resident of Hastings, Ontario, is a specialist in Textiles and Design History and teaches at Sheridan College, Oakville, Ontario. In 2004 Skye Morrison worked for the Government of Gujarat celebrating traditional Indian kite makers through the book Strings of a Timeless Tradition and the film, Keepers of Flight. She also wrote and produced a film, Thread has a Life of its Own: Aboriginal Women’s Stitched Stories.
When: Sun. Mar. 17 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Where: East Common Room, 1st floor of Hart House
Cost: Free / Registration required / Students, staff, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and their families are welcome at this free event.
