Fitness for Food 2012

Bring your friends, yoga mats and fitness shoes.

Details: We had so much fun the first time that we're back for more! We'll stretch, dance and shake our way to health in support of the UTSU Food & Clothing Bank. Morning snack and light lunch included.

Our Instructors

Yoga: Chris Csak has over 10 years exploring and sharing a number of different Yoga Practices.  His foundation and formal Yoga training is in the branch of Hatha Yoga called Ashtanga Yoga. Originally, he studied in Toronto with Dianne Bruni and Ron Reid at Downwarddog Yoga Studios, but more recently he has returned from working intensely with the highly respected Caroline Klebl based in San Fransisco, California.  Chris' own philosophy connects his education in exercise science with traditional Yoga philosophy and practice therefore his classes bring a more contemporary feel while staying connected to traditional Yoga Asanas (Postures).  Chris has taught Yoga on all 7 continents in a wealth of exciting settings and now he is excited to be teaching at The University of Toronto.

 

Nia: Jill Cressy is Community Health Coordinator, Health Promotion Programs at the University of Toronto. She is also a student at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education working towards a M.Ed. in Higher Education (Emphasis on Leadership). Ms. Cressy is a certified Black Belt Nia Instuctor, Can-Fit-Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist, Fusion Fitness Instructor, PhysicalMind Institute Pilates Instructor, and Total Gym GRAVITY Instructor with a Bachelor Degree in Physical and Health Education.

 

Zumba: Kristina Djokic has over 8 years of professional certified fitness experience. Kristina is currently an instructor at the Athletic Centre and Hart House at the University of Toronto. She is also working towards her M.Ed. in Adult Education and Environmental Studies at OISE. Kristina is certified in Zumba, Can-Fit FIS and Yoga 250h. She instructs classes in pilates, yoga, bootcamp, functional strength, aerobics and dance.

Presented by Hart House, University of Toronto Students Union (UTSU) and the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE).
