Chorus Current Accompanist


The Hart House Chorus is seeking an accompanist for our upcoming 2015-16 season!

The Hart House Chorus is a 50-membered mixed-voice choir auditioned from talented students, alumni, and faculty from the University of Toronto, as well as members from the local community under the direction of conductor and music director, David BowserThe Chorus rehearses every Monday evening starting in September and ending in April with two concerts during the season: the Fall Concert in December and the Spring Concert in April. The Chorus has recently performed works such as Fauré’s Requiem, Poulenc’s Gloria, Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Bach’s Magnificat, and many more. Recently, the Chorus was invited to attend and perform in the 1000 Voices for Peace Concert in Brussels to commemorate the centenary of the Great War. 


Our Fall Concert in 2015 will be featuring selections from Handel’s Messiah and our Spring Concert in 2016 will be featuring Mozart’s Requiem (exact dates to be confirmed). We are currently seeking an accompanist who would be able to attend our weekly Monday rehearsals and concerts, as well as any additional rehearsals if needed. Accompanist auditions will be held on August 6th and 13th at Hart House. The audition process is as follows: 

  • A prepared piece no longer than 10 minutes in duration 

  • The Kyrie movement from Mozart’s Requiem (a photocopy can be accessed at 

  • A sight-reading piece of a four-part vocal score
