About: Matt is an instructor in the Theatre & Drama Studies joint program between Sheridan College and the University of Toronto at Mississauga, sits on the Board of Directors for fu-GEN Asian Canadian Theatre Company and is the Interim General Manager of Necessary Angel where he recently produced Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis and runs the WMD project in Weston-Mt. Dennis.

Elizabeth Kantor, Set Designer

 

Elizabeth KantorFor Hart House Theatre: Debut

 

About: Elizabeth is a director, designer, and producer. Her work as a director and designer was recently featured in the 2013 SummerWorks Performance Festival presentation of Maria Gets A New Life.

Elizabeth’s production design (set, video, lighting and sound) for the highly acclaimed production HUFF, by Cliff Cardinal (recipient of the 2012 Buddies in Bad Times Vanguard Award for Risk & Innovation) has been presented on stages across the country. She is also the show’s producer – orchestrating its fourteen-city 2012-2014 National Tour, inclusive of a presentation in the National Arts Centre’s 2013/2014 season.

Elizabeth holds a B.A. from the University of Ottawa, is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, and a recipient of the Zonta Theatre Award.

This fall Elizabeth will be touring with director Alanis King, and will be working as an artistic associate with the Suppine Collective.

About: Ming is a Toronto designer whose main focus is costume design. She has had the chance to work on a variety of projects including advertising and television and has assisted some of Toronto’s leading designers. Most recently she coordinated Cats for NuMusical Theatricals (Panasonic Theatre) and Snow White & 007 for Ross Petty Productions (Elgin). Upcoming projects include costume design for Tainted at GromKat Productions/Moyo Theatre and The Gravitational Pull of Bernice Trimble for Obsidian Theatre. About: Alexander Junior is a producer, singer, composer, multi-instrument and multi-award-winning musician. Most recent projects include Pacific Blues (a collaboration of art and music that ties North America and the same of South East Asia), Broad Way Sleep (R&B/Hip Hop Band: Top 3 Winner of 2011 Billboard Worldwide Song Contest), Santa Guerrilla Collective (Filipino traditional and modern fusion group), Styrofoam Ones (Pop Noir/Big Beat Band) and Times Neue Roman (Psychedelic/Punk/Rap Band). Alexander is also a father in an artistic family, leading Filipino Tribal Knowledges together with his partner Jennifer Maramba and son Kawayan Punzaramba. He has also been recognized as one of Toronto’s best producers to look for in blogTO.com, September 2012. Much of his soundscape music has been played on American Broadcasting shows like CSI: Las Vegas and MTV US and Canada.

About: Michael Gibbs is an up-and-coming producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is currently a participant of the Remix Project specializing in music production. Production clients include Toronto Public Health, OneMethod, and several Toronto recordings artists such as Phatima, F-Cas, Menace and Franchize. Gibbs is currently working on his own debut release 16 Steps.

About: Rebecca is currently in her third year of the University College Drama program here at U of T. In 2012 she completed Canadian Stage’s “Innovators Program for Young Artists”, and she worked as the Education Assistant for Theatre Ontario this past summer. Rebecca will be the Student Coordinator of the undergrad drama program for this coming school year.
