Hart House is built around a tranquil, green quadrangle—a beloved setting for elegant weddings and popular outdoor events. The quadrangle connects to the Great Hall, a high-arched gathering place that has served as the ceremonial centre of the University of Toronto for close to a century. There are comfortable sitting rooms, a chapel, library, and spaces for music, debating, billiards and photography.
Most of Hart House’s historic rooms and spaces are available for private reservation, and full Meeting and Event Services can be provided. From a light lunch at a sales conference to a three-course meal to celebrate a milestone event, Hart House can customize menu, bar, décor, AV and room set-up options to suit any need and budget.
Hart House Fitness Centre features a fully equipped gym, unique suspended indoor running track and a stunning Art Deco pool. Free drop-in classes and registered fitness classes are available to members. Students at the University of Toronto are automatically members of Hart House.
Membership options are also available to the community and to campus faculty, staff and visiting students at a discount rate.
The Justina M. Barnicke Gallery hosts an ever-changing series of exhibits featuring both contemporary and historical works of art in all mediums.
