Congratulations to our Athletes!

Hart House won big at the 2013 CIS Track and Field Championships held this March in Edmonton, Alberta. Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) or Sport Interuniversitaire Canadien (SIC) is the national governing body of university sports in Canada and includes over 50 degree granting universities throughout the nation.

Alicia Brown won gold in the women’s 300m, gold in the women’s 4x400m and set a new CIS record in the women’s 4x200m. She was named Varsity Athlete of the Week.

Rosa Serafini won silver in the women’s 4x800m and placed 6th in women’s 1000m. Both women are Hart House Strength and Fitness Supervisors. The U of T women’s team placed second overall with a score of 111.5 points and Hart House women contributed 41 points to that total.

Townsend Benard won bronze in the men’s pole vault. He is a Strength and Fitness Supervisor as well as a Hart House Personal Trainer. See him in action below. If you’ve ever thought about working with a personal trainer, now may be the time to take advantage of Hart House’s talented team.
